Sorry the 2020 Midnight Marathon has been Cancelled due to the Coronavirus
The Midnight Marathon will be back on the 19th June 2021.
Event Update 15/05/2020
I have held out as long as could with the hope that the 2020 Midnight Marathon would still be able to take place. We have just received the following letter from UK Athletics ( see below) for this reason we are now cancelling this years Race that was due to take place on the 20th June.
Sorry for the delay I will be sending out an e-mail Saturday.
Please read —————–
In line with the updated government advice, any competition that takes place during a period in which UK Athletics have advised that all events should be cancelled will have its licence cancelled.
If a licence is cancelled and the event is still staged, then it would not be covered by UKA public liability insurance.
UKA have advised that no competition/events should take place before 1st July 2020 and as your race falls within this period, I would be grateful if you could cancel it in your licence console. Cancelling a race in the runbritain system will ensure that Event Adjudicators are notified of the cancellation; prevent unnecessary automated emails requesting post-race information and remove the race from the runbritain Race Listings page.
When you cancel the race on the runbritain system you can still access details of race entries if you are using the runbritain online entry system, but all other data will be unavailable. The data can be accessed again if the race is re-instated.
If you decide to re-schedule the race, we can use the existing licence with the new date assuming that nothing has changed regarding the race set up and that you have local authority approval. This applies to races being carried over to next year.
Should you wish to re-schedule a race then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org but please note that as there are a large number of races moving their dates there could be fixture clashes and you should check that medical cover, officials, volunteers and timing services etc. will be available for the proposed new date of the race.
If you have any queries, then please contact me.
SOLD OUT IN 2019
Race update 18/04/2020
We are still sitting tight about this years Marathon. I will be sending out an e-mail over the weekend to update you all.
Below is the only information I have had from UK Athletics.
I would say its unlikely that the race will take place but we are sitting tight at the moment until we hear anything else. Its still 10 weeks away so there is still a chance. What ever happens everyone will get a 90% refund. If this happens everyone that has entered this year will be given a 10% discount code off the 2021 Midnight Marathon.
UK Athletics have advised that all races should not take place until after May 31st. Therefore, you should not apply for a licence with a race date before 1st June.
Thank you all for taking part in the the 2019 race. I have now posted the results below.
It a was a great night with some great people. It always gets a bit confusing on the night so if you did not receive your trophy please let me know and we will send it out to you.
