A big thank you jdm Estate Agents for Sponsoring the race. To Bromley Council for letting us use Scadbury Park and to The Bull Head Hotel and for Walnuts Cafe letting us use their toilets.
It finally happened – We are now on Instagram. Please follow us @bridgeeventsdartford.
The 2022 Chislehurst Chase will take place on the 18th September
We can now hold a mass start for this years race. The race is limited to 200 runners.
New run map for this year only. Back to the old course for 2022
Race day information below
Unfortunately, we have lost Scadbury park for this year’s race due to maintenance on part of the run course. There is no way we can use the park as there is no other paths we can use. I have held back on sending out this e-mail as I have been waiting for a replay from the company that look after the park. As of today I have had no reply
So this year we have put together a new run course just using Chislehurst common. It’s still all off road but it will be laps. I am back on site today trying to make the lap bigger to make it 3 laps. If I can’t do this, it will be 4 laps. Sorry but it’s totally out of my control.
It will still be a tough course due to the rain we will be getting later this week. If the run works, we hold another 5k and 10k using this course as a free fun run to everyone that’s taking part later this year or early next year (down to weather)
We are also giving you all a 20% discount off the Dartford Bridge 10k on the 26th September and a 20% discount off next years’ race.
I will send out the discount code on Friday evening to everyone.
Registration will open at 8.30am on the small grass area in Royal parade. The race will start at 10am.
You will pick up your race number from here.
The run will start in the wood 200m from registration.
Bag drop will also be in the wood by the finish
So many races have been moved back to September so it’s only a small race this year.
We will be giving out trophies to the following winners.
1st 2nd 3rd Overall Female / Male
1st 2nd 3rd 40 + Female / Male
1st 2nd 3rd 50 + Female / Male
1st 2nd 3rd 60 + Male
1st 60 + Female
1st 70 + Male
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Guidance for Road Race and Multi-Terrain Race Organisers in the UK
- Race organizers to draft additional plans such as a Covid-19 Risk Assessment
- A number of measures to be introduced which may require extra resource in terms of time, equipment, personnel and budget.
- Additional communication with participants to update them on arrangements made by an event to mitigate against the risk of catching Covid-19
Registration will open at 8am and will be on the Triangle by the traffic lights.
Royal Parade, Chislehurst BR7 6NR
All race numbers and timing chips will be picked up on race day.
The race start is 300m away just past the Bull Hotel
The 10k race will start at 10am.
The fun run will start at 11.40am
I will be adding the start list to the web site Wednesday evening.
Bag storage will be by the finish area.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to start the race on the road. We could not get police cover to stop the traffic. The race will start just inside the wood about 300m from registration.
We are very lucky the Walnuts Cafe and Bull Hotel are allowing us to use their Toilets. Can enter from the side of the Hotel not the front door. Please can you keep them both tidy.
Pop in and support them both after for a recovery Coffee or Pint but only 1 if you are driving. They also both serve a very high stranded of food.
If you are a 32 to 35-minute runner, then you should be near the front at the start. If you are a bit slower try and put yourself in the right place. It’s a chipped run so your time will start when you cross the mat.
Please keep to the side when running as there will other people using the park.
Please take care as you will be running on uneven ground. There will be gravel and tree roots to contend with so be careful.
I will send out a final update Friday evening for late entries.
We think you will be impressed with the medals this year. Bigger and much better than last year. Even the Trophies are bigger this year.
To confirm we will be giving out trophies for the following age groups. If you think you have won a Trophy please wait for the Prize giving. This will be held as quick as we can.
This may change by Saturday morning
Male and Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Male and Female 40+ 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Male and Female 50+ 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Male 60 + 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Female 60 + 1st
Please remember that most of this run will through the woods. Take care as the path will be uneven and there will be tree roots to contend with.
We will be taking entries on Sunday morning if we are not full.
There is not an event car park but there are car parking places close to the race start.
If you have any question just ask.
You will complete 2 laps in Scadbury park then onto a small lap on the common that will take you back to the finish. There will be a water station at 4k, 8k and then at the finish.
