A new and unique long distance race for 2012 in Dartford, Kent offering superb value for money. Entries are now open!
We are pleased to announce that we are now adding a half distance race to the Midnight Man.
Having received many e-mails about a half distance race we have decided to add it to this year’s race. If the half proves to be popular we will keep it in for next year.

Here is the twist – you are going to be racing through the night!
No overnight hotel bills and very little chance of overheating on the bike or run. Plus the bike course will be taking place on a closed dual carriageway, so no cars to worry about!
If you live within a 100 mile distance of the race, you could drive here on race day, register, rack, rest, race, finish, rest/recover and be home in time for Sunday lunch with the family.
Participant numbers for this very flat, fast and accurately measured course are limited to 300.
Registration and racking will open at 2pm on the Saturday. There will be a pre-race brief at 5pm to go over the route and to answer any questions you may have. The event will be run under the same rules as any long distance race, with the race to be completed within 17 hours.
The race will start at 6pm with a 3,800m swim (4 x 950m laps) in the south lake, with a cut off time of 8.15pm. Wetsuits will be compulsory.
You exit the swim into transition and onto the bike for 180km (18 x 10km laps) with the majority of the course on traffic free roads with excellent lighting.
There will be a timing mat that you will cross on each lap, so if you do lose count of the laps, you can check by tapping your participant number into the computer provided. You can also set your trip computer when you start to record your mileage.
There will be one feed station on the bike that you will go past on each lap. The bike cut off will be at 4.30am. Lights front and rear on the bike will be compulsory.
Back into transition and out onto the run of 42.2km (6 x 7km laps). As you complete each lap you will be given a band to help you keep count of the distance you’ve covered. There will also be a timing mat that you will go over six times.
The run will go past the finish/transition each time and having competed in 12 Ironman races, I know this will give you a huge lift each time you complete a lap! There will be three feed stations on each run lap. The run cut off will be at 11am.
There will be full medical cover with a Doctor present for the whole event. After the race there will be free refreshments and a rest area available for all competitors. Car parking is free and a short stroll to registration and the start.
Half Distance race
This will be half the distance of the long distance race and will be a 1.9km (2 laps) 90km (9laps) 21km run (3 laps)
Start time and all race details will be the same as the full distance race.
